Redesigned Google Maps desktop beta now available to all users

You no longer need an email invitation to test out the overhauled
Google Maps web experience. Unveiled two months ago at I/O, the
completely rethought, vector-based
Maps makeover is now available to all users; you simply
need to visit Google for instant access to the beta. The
Maps team says it's been listening closely to feedback since
revealing an all-new take on one of the internet's most vital
tools, and promises further improvements "to make the experience even
better." Aside from bringing Maps in line
with Google's other recent software offerings, the new UI
includes a wealth of new contextual information, improved
prediction capabilities, and edge-to-edge content. We took a look at
the redesigned interface back in May, and the below video should give
you a good sense of what to
expect once you commit to making the switch.
