As you guys know, there is now intense competition between smartphone makers to attract consumers to buy their devices. Samsung already knows about this trend and thus, it look for other ways to keep itself up as the leading smartphone maker. Samsung will launch a smartphone powered by the Tizen operating(version 2.2.1) system, the Samsung Z.
It seems Samsung is gradually shifting attention away from Android. Remember it dumped Andriod for its Tizen OS in the . It even said a TV running Tizen is in the works.
Back to the Samsung Z. The Tizen-powered smartphone has a 720p, Super AMOLED display with a 2.3GHz Quad core Chipzilla and 2GB RAM. It has a 16GB of internal storage expandable up to 64GB via a microSD slot. It also comes with a heart monitor, fingerprint scanner and an 8MP rear camera.
Samsung did not reveal price of the device but noted that the gadget will first hit Russia in July-September. The phone will launch tomorrow at the Tizen Developer Conference in San Francisco.
Samsung is calling on developers to make apps for its Tizen operating system to make it attractive for us. It promised to give a special promotional program to all developers for one year.
