American wireless company Verizon gave its blessing to a customer when it accidentally sent a new rare 64Gb iPhone 6 prototype instead of a $750 iPhone 6 handset, upon contract renewal. The customer quickly cash in on Verizon's mistake and took the iPhone 6 Prototype to eBay for sale.
As at the time of writing this post, .. the current bid is $85,600(157 bids). Yes, you read that right. Apple doesn't allow such a rare device to get into the hands of customers---it's only for behind-the-scenes testing. Over 100 people have so far bid on this rare iPhone prototype, and three days still to go.
Moreover, the said rare iPhone 6 prototype, which is the real deal because it possesses the red lightning port, no FCC markings on the back, no model number and no trace of the word iPhone, can't make or receive phone calls and will not be able to run apps. It's in developer mode; the new iOS 8 has not been installed in it. Oops! there is an iPhone word on it.
You can't use this handset camera to take pictures or record a video. If the device proves to be genuine, however, it is likely that Apple will order eBay to close the auction.
