When we talk about self-driving cars---be they Google, Nissan or Audi driverless cars---will imagine them to be on the road in 5-10 years time. However, it appears that cars with autonomous driving capabilities are coming to you much more quicker than you think. In fact, as early as 2016, we will be able to own a S-Class sedan self-driving car. That's next year? I know!

Daimler AG, Mercedes-Benz parent company, has revealed that its upcoming Mercedes-Benz's E-Class sedan will automate driving at highway speed. In other words it will take over driving from the human driver. The E-Class sedan will come equipped with the technologies that make a vehicle drive on its own, which include radar, sensors and cameras.

The new Mercedes' E-Class sedan, which is expected to go on sale in March, 2016, is technologically more advanced than any other S-class in the market today with the inclusion of automated driving systems.

The automated systems take over driving while on the highway, provided the driver's hands are always on the steering wheel. If the driver, by any means, moves his hands away from the steering wheel, the car will turn itself off, after first sounding a warning to the driver to retake  the steering wheel.

Test conducted revealed the E-Class can recognise pedestrians annd respond quickly by slamming its brakes to avoid a collision It can also prevent car accidents by bringing the car to a halt inches away from the object even while driving at 90 kilometers per hour.
