Last time KGI security analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revealed, among other things, that Apple sensing feature Force Touch would make its way to the next version of iOS and the new iPhone models. Now a report from 9to5Mac backs up Kuo's claims.
Mark Gurman of 9to5Mac said Apple is indeed working on the feature in iOS 9, and will first show its face on the iPhone 6S smartphone. Force Touch is already available on the MacBook and Apple's new wearable tech, the Apple Watch.
Force Touch can tell between a gentle tap and and a deep press, and simply lets you bring up additional controls in apps like messages, Music etc by pressing firmly on the gadget display. You can use Force Touch to search for an address in Maps and pause or end a workout. Analysts say it might be one of the next iPhones selling point.
Gurnman says Apple is working with third-party app developers to embed Force Touch in their applications. It is also rumoured that Force Touch might appear on iPads. Although I don't think we should our hopes up at this time.
