Waoh! Samsung wants to reduce road deaths by outfitting trucks with camera and displays

Autonomous cars are expected to save millions of lives from road accidents once they become commercially available. Accidents are mainly caused by driver error--for example texting while driving. South Korea tech giant wants to contribute its quota by outfitting its safety trucks with 4 rear monitors .

Samsung straps a camera to the front of the truck that sends  real time details of what's going on ahead to the four  displays mounted on the back. That way motorists behind who might want to overtake a lorry could see the road ahead through the composite displays and quickly decide if it is safe to go or just stay where they are.

Samsung is currently experimenting with the safety truck in Argentina, where it is widely reported that road accidents are on the rise, and has confirmed that the technology is indeed working. Watch Samsung Safety Truck in action in this video.

Well, I must say, this is one of the best idea from Samsung. I just hope it gets the government say-so to outfit trucks with these displays and reduce the number of road deaths.
