The Chinese company that became the third largest smartphone maker in the world in 2014(now 4th) and a $46 billion company by modeling its gadgets after Apple products is coming to Africa. Fondly called the 'Apple of China' for copycatting apple, Xiaomi has made known its intention to sell its smartphones in 50 African countries next month.
The Chinese-based company has exclusively picked Mobile in Africa limited as its distributor.Mobile In Africa will assist Xiaomi in putting millions of Mi handsets in the hands of Africans both high and low income earners , including Nigeria.
Xiaomi revealed that it would launch its two top-selling handsets, the RedMi 2 and Mi4 in September. Both handsets packs powerful specs but less expensive. For instance, the Red Mi 2 will cost $160 while the high-end Mi 4--the iPhone lookalike-- will sell for $320.
