Barely a week after unveiling the new Galaxy Note 5 phablet, Samsung is already getting complaints from owners of the device about an issue with the device's pen. From what they shared, putting the stylus or S Pen in the Note 5 backwards can either get it stuck or break it completely if you try to force it out.
A lot of people expected Big Sammy to deal with the issue on time like recalling the Note 5 or could have fix it during test. However, the South Korean company has come out to say that it already advised Note 5 owners not to insert the Pen in the wrong way in the Galaxy Note 5 user manual.Doing so can cause it to become stuck and can damage the pen and your handset. And strongly advised you insert your S Pen with the nip pointed inward; in order to avoid the problem. Good advice no doubt.
But Samsung's own take on the matter has been questioned by many, considering the fact that it is the one making the handsets and should have fix the flaw during its internal testing. Rather it only gave a warning in the manual. In other words, Samsung knew about the S Pen design flaw and still went on to released the device--fully equipped with #PenGate.
You might say only stupid people will dock the S Pen in the device the wrong way, but you never can tell who will come in contact with your handset when you are away. Say, for example, your kids who do not know how to handle the Note 5 stylus and thus, destroying such an expensive gadget.
