Palo Alto,Calif-based electric vehicle maker Tesla Motors has confirmed through its Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk that it would make its inexpensive Chinese Model S 3 EV in China. The reason, according to Musk, is to bring down production costs and prices of the Model S 3 in China.
With this move Tesla would be free from anything associated with import taxes on vehicles in China. Current China-bound Model S electric sedans are manufactured in the United States of America and Tesla Motors pays through the nose to ship its all electric vehicles to China.
