Seven British city councils are seeking to legally prohibit self-driving cars from being available in the UK. The information was sent to us from someone who knows well about the matter but wishes to remain anonymous.
The anonymous person revealed that the councils felt it was culturally insensitive to have autonomous cars, and they preferred the revenue from parking and buses along with local shopping. The person also revealed to us the names of the seven British councils seeking to stop self-driving cars from being available in the UK. Here they are:
Liverpool City council
Southamtpon City council
Leeds City council
South Straffordshire council
HartlePool Borough council
Peterborough City Council and
Tower Hamlets Council
It is quite sad to hear that some people are pushing to prevent driverless in the UK, despite the fact that they could save more lives, reduce traffic, improve the economy etc. when they become commercially available.
