Google announces Android Wear app for iOS smartphones

You can now pair up your iPhone 5, 5S,5C, 6, 6 Plus and even the upcoming iPhone 6S Plus or  iPhone 7 with  Android wear smartwatches like-- the Huawei Watch,LG Urbane and the unreleased Moto 360--provided the smartwatches are running the latest version of  Google's software for wearables.

The search giant today released Android Wear app for iOS  that lets iOS users to use their iPhone handsets with Android Wear smartwatches. Now they are not restricted  only to the Apple Watch to get their messages, phone calls, notifications from apps etc. right from a small display that sits on their wrists.

Before you start jumping around the room for joy, if you are among those who have a thing for Android watches, have  in mind that there's a caveat.

Firstly,While you can connect your iPhone to your LG Urbane or any other upcoming Android wear smartwatch via Bluetooth or the app, you cannot pair over WiFi.

Secondly, you do not have access to third party Android wear apps in Google Play like your Android counterparts.Although you can still get notifications from iPhone apps already installed on your device but you won't be able to respond to them. Google says it is working on it and all future Watches running its Android Wear operating system will fully work with iPhones
