HP and Microsoft are not ready to give up on Windows-based devices.

Hewlett-Packard and Microsoft have announced a new HP Stream range of inexpensive windows 8 tablets and laptops. The new devices are the HP Stream 7 and HP Stream 8 tablets as well as the 11.6-inch and 13.3-inch HP Stream notebooks. All four gadgets run on Microsoft's Windows 8 operating system and are powered by Intel's Celeron processor. The HP Stream notebooks have 32 GB of internal storage and will depend on Cloud storage.

After unveiling the Apple Watch in the United States earlier this month, Apple took its smartwatch to Paris Fashion Week to show it off to fashion enthusiasts who had been waiting for long to catch a glimpse of the wearable and...., also to win their hearts. The Apple watches were showcased at Collete, a high-end French retailer, behind glass displays and no one  was allowed to try on or touch them. Although many were allowed to take pictures. These two British 15-year olds, Danny and Kyle, did the unexpected when they purposefully walked into a local Apple store and asked an Apple employee there if the new iPhone 6s truly bend as rumoured, and when the employee replied that it couldn't be, they picked up the larger iPhone 6 Plus on display and bent it to prove their point. Which they did. Now to add salt to Apple injury, the two bragged about their mischief by filming the whole thing and said they don't even care to be honest, because it's Apple's fault. Even Showed that they never regretted what they did and will stand face to face with Apple by calling each other by their real names. It took them a great deal of strength to actually bent the iPhone 6 Plus. Watch the video below.

Remember Galaxy's Galaxy Note edge? That phone announced earlier this month with the curved display on one side that everyone hailed as an example of Samsung smartphone innovation? Yeah, well it turns out it's not a regular product. The company's president, DJ Lee, told ZDNet Korea that it's just a "limited edition concept." That means it will be available in small numbers in Korea, but won't be sold in Europe or the United States.

News reaching us has it that Facebook-owned photo-and-video sharing social networking service Instagram, has been blocked in mainland China as a storm of protest is underway in Hong Kong. The decision to blocked Instagram was taken by the nation's number 10 after photos and videos of Hong Kong police firing tear gas at pro-democracy protesters surfaced on several social media sites including China's answer to Twitter,Weibo under the hashtag ''#OccupyCentral.'' ''Android is king'' is a phrase that every smartphone user is now familiar with ;regardless of whether you use Android smartphones or not. Google knows this and as such, has entered into a new agreement with its Original Equipment Manufacturer(OEM) partners that will see them pre-installed 20 of its apps on their devices before they reach the public(consumers).

Korean technology giant Samsung on Saturday launched its Galaxy Alpha smartphone in India at an event held in New Delhi. The Samsung Galaxy Alpha will sell for Rs.39,990 and will come on stream as from the first week of October. Those who buy the handset will get 5GB of 4G data from Bhart Airtel.

A few days after CEO John chen released pricing of the new smartphone, the Ontario-based phone maker has officially launched the Passport on Wednesday at big events in Toronto(Canada), London(England) and Dubia(United Arab Emirate). The events were streamed live on the BlackBerry's website. The BlackBerry Passport is the company's last bet to take its share of the smartphone market. Mercedes-Benz has taken the wraps of its self-driving Future Truck 2025 concept at an International motor show in Germany. The truck ,which will be on the highways in 2025, won't need the man behind the wheel to handle the steering wheel all thanks to  highway pilot system of radar and camera technology. Just when I thought that Globacom was sleeping for allowing Airtel Nigeria to steal its second position a few months ago, it added more than 2 million new subscribers to its network.  The feat, therefore,  cleared the way for Globacom to retain its position as Nigeria's second largest mobile service provider. He controlled the drone with a  newly installed camera he developed . The glasses he wears during the testing works very similar to  . It acts as the screen through which the camera feed is seen. wow, This guy got a gift !

The iPhone 6 arch-rival the Galaxy Alpha from South Korean brand Samsung will officially enters the US market on Friday through telecom operator AT&T. The Galaxy Alpha will sell exclusively on AT&T for $612 or $200 with a two-year contract. The Samsung's metal-branded smartphone will come in three colour variants: white, charcoal black and frosted Gold

Now that Apple  and Samsung have launched their flagship smartphones, it is time for BlackBerry to officially announce its latest BlackBerry model, the Passport. But before Canadian company does that, it spat out the pricing of the handset. CEO John Chen revealed in an interview with the Wall Street Journal that the BlackBerry Passport will cost $600( Over N90,000 if you convert to Naira), In comparison, the iPhone 6 is more expensive than the BlackBerry Passport at $650.

Earlier today I requested Apple to post the sales figures for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus smartphones and the company's CEO Tim Cook was humble enough to accept my request, and has shared the figure.

My guess is your new iPhone 6 is sitting beside you on the couch,,or..wait... let me try again...in your bedroom! I got that right? Anyway  I think you have unbox it already. So now that you have confirmed that your device is in good health and not showing blue screen of death, it's time to download some of the best apps for your iPhone 6.

Am so curious to know the numbers. Seriously Apple ought to have revealed the sales figures of the n iPhone 6 and not keep us in the dark. I heard the new iPhones, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, sold like hotcakes. The iPhone 6 was sold out ''completely'' before customers even arrived at Apple stores in the UK, so I read.

As the battle for supremacy over not-so-crowded virtual reality market continues, Oculu VR, the Irvine-based startup bought by Facebook, today unveiled the third generation of its Rift virtual reality headset prototype , the Crescent Bay. The new device was released today at Oculus first ever developer conference held in Los Angeles, California, USA.

Sony Corp has revealed a new Augmented reality device, the SmartEyeglass, that looks and works very similar to the Google Glass. The SmartEyeglass when connected to an Android phone displays text and images to the wearer's field of vision; allowing them to view navigate, get information on the go without having to use their hands to operate the gadget. Sony even called on  Developers to start making apps for the new smart eyewear by releasing the Software Development Kit. The new smart Glass from Sony is expected to be in the market around March next year.

We all know that Apple said its new mobile operating system iOS 8 will come with so many amazing features. But I never heard Tim Cook say you can recharge your iPhones in the microwave. It's quite unfortunate that some people are very good at playing ''funny'' games with peoples emotions.

                       
Supermart Nigeria CEOs Gbolahan Fagbure and Raphael Afaedor were recently on CNBC Africa discussing 'Ecommerce as a growing sector in Nigeria’. Samsung is not ready to give up its position in India to native players like Micromax and Spice---even though everything seems to be going in their way at the moment. The Korean brand is reportedly planning to launch a new Tizen-based smartphone into the India market in November this year. The company's Director of Media Solutions Center for South West Asia, Tarun Malik made it known at Samsung's global senior management meetings. Technology experts expect big SAM to release a smartphone with a model number SM-Z130H or one with a SM-Z130.

Microsoft has released the Universal Mobile Keyboard that is compatible with Windows, Android and iOS smartphones and tablets. The new peripheral device can be paired to three operating systems via Bluetooth. You can switch from one operating system to another by flipping its operating system switch .

Audi became the first automaker to get a special permit from the California Department of Motor Vehicles to test its self-driving cars on public roads in the state. Audi, including Google and other car makers, got their permits yesterday.  Yesterday marked the day that the State's new regulations governing the testing of robotic vehicles  come into effect--which include that a human driver must always be behind the wheel of an autonomous car in case something goes wrong. Steve Jobs resigned from Apple, after losing a power struggle with the board of directors. Steve had co-founded Apple in 1976 to produce the first wave of affordable personal computers. He strongly promoted the GUI (graphical user interface) design that helped popularize computers and led to Microsoft’s development of the Windows operating system, which copied much of Apple’s operating system’s GUI. Steve, especially in his early entrepreneurial years, was not always easy to work with and was becoming such a disruptive force within Apple that it became necessary for the board to diminish his power. After months with little executive power, although he remained as Chairman, Steve resigned 29 years ago today. He wrote the resignation letter this day and dated/sent it September 17.
