He brought Virtual Reality back from the dead, and he is considered by many as the ''face of virtual reality in gaming.'' He kind of..should I say..imitates Mark Zuckerberg---always wears shorts and T-shirt to trade shows and events and prefers to wear saddles to shoes. Weirdo!

The biggest technology show of the year, the Consumer Electronics Show(CES 2015) will take place next week at 'Sin City' Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. It's a show where over 150,000 geeks from around the world converge at Las Vegas to see the latest offerings from big names like Sony, Samsung, LG, Audi,Panasonic, Sharp, Kodak etc. As you all know, this year's event will be spread across three areas to allow for less commute. But what exactly should we expect from CES 2015? Find out.

Oculus CEO Brenda Iribe had said at the Web Summit in Ireland last month that the consumer model of the Rift Virtual Reality Headset is ''months, not years away, but many months.'' But, according to an email we received from an anonymous tipster, Facebook-owned Oculus will show off the consumer version of the Crescent Bay headset at next month's Consumer Electronics Show(CES2015) in Las Vegas, USA. The tipster, who is familiar with Oculus plans, says the final model will be lighter, fully equipped with controllers and will cost  $350 and beyond. The VR headset will immediately go on sale in the US after Facebook tries it for ''social ecommerce.''

I know you are used to playing Temple Run on your smartphone and tablet, directing that guy on the screen to take the idol while running for your his life. Interesting game! But brace yourself up for a whole new game experience because you---yes you---will be the one running to the steal the idol. Imangi Studios, the developers of Temple Run, has released the classic game for Samsung's GearVR Innovators Edition. The game is available for the GearVR as a free download.

Oculus CEO Brendan Iribe may have said a consumer version of their VR headset will come out in months, but Korean technology juggernaut Samsung has just brought theirs to the market. The Samsung Gear VR headset is available to anyone in the US for $200--it sells exclusively  on  Samsung's website and US phone company AT&T. Time for some real-life virtual reality gaming.

Virtual Reality will allow you and I to live a peaceful and ultimately perfect life. It will also change everything. It will change how brands market their products to customers and  travelers can easily map out how to spend their holidays. Thomas Cook can attest to this.

There is a new3D 360 camera from Samsung that will let you take photos and shoot high definitions videos of places anywhere in the world just right from where you are standing or sitting. Samsung calls this camera Project Beyond and it works with its GearVR headset.

Well to those of you who resides in the United States of America, at least for now.

South Korean electronics giant Samsung, fondly called ''Big SAM'', has just revealed at its Developer Conference that its GearVR virtual reality ''Innovator's Edition'' will hit Galaxy Note 4 users in the US come December. The company did not give out details as to the exact date the device will go on sale or its pricing, but, from what we have heard earlier, the GearVR could cost as much as $200 apiece.

The start-up just came out of the blue and seduced Google and others into splashing out millions of dollars to bring its out-of-this world concept to life. I like the idea---combining mobile computing, virtual reality and augmented reality into one technology.

Florida-based Start-up Magic Leap received $542 million in funding from search king Google and other big names in Tech and business, for its project that focused on virtual and augmented reality. Actually, Magic Leap makes augmented reality glasses that project animated digital imagery around the wearer.For instance, you could see a great white shark or seahorses swimming around in your room or office. Got that? Ok...

As the battle for supremacy over not-so-crowded virtual reality market continues, Oculu VR, the Irvine-based startup bought by Facebook, today unveiled the third generation of its Rift virtual reality headset prototype , the Crescent Bay. The new device was released today at Oculus first ever developer conference held in Los Angeles, California, USA.

Apple's new iPhone 6 models, the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus, are going on sale this week; we expect the US-based firm to sell a lot of them. So, since we all know these Apple gadgets will be in the hands of millions of people around the world, why not take advantage of that and build a Virtual reality headsets for  the hardware so that they can experience the world of virtual reality for themselves. That's exactly what the small team behind the AirVR headset wants to do--- develop a VR headset for iOS devices.

No sooner had Samsung unveiled the Gear VR virtual reality headset than it was up for pre-order in the UK. UK's retailer Mobile has started accepting pre-order for the just released Samsung Gear VR virtual reality headset for a sum of $249 (N37,350). However, the eCommerce retailer did not reveal details as to when it will be available.

I wasn't suppose to blog today but the alarm on my phone clued me in on the Galaxy Note 4 launch, and I was surprised to see that the company also unveiled a VR headset. Sony and Google better watch out.

After all the rumours and speculations, Samsung today showed off new phablets and a Virtual Reality Headset at its UNPACKED event held at IFA tech show in Berlin , Germany---just days before the event officially kicks off.

This one is quite different from the one that surfaced last month. Anyway Sammobile posted this supposedly image of Samsung's first Virtual Reality Headset Gear VR on its website. It says it is the production unit and it has a model number SM-R320. See another photo...

As the saying goes, ''The proof of the pudding is in the eating'' so this lucrative business is not for me(for now). But if you have an Oculus Rift, as a developer, then you are good to go. Facebook will pay to find bugs on Oculus VR virtual reality headset Oculus Rift.

Fighter pilots have just gotten a new helmet. BAE systems has unveiled its futuristic Striker II helmet for aircraft pilots. The  head mounted display combines both augmented and virtual reality, to make the combat pilot feel as though he is in a visual world. It also uses head tracking technology---An impressive feature that makes it different from other existing pilot helmets.

You have heard about them. You know them. One belongs to the class of Virtual Reality and, the other Augmented reality. So pick one...
      

In May, US tech blog Engadget reported that Samsung is working with Oculus VR to build its own virtual reality headset. While many, at that time, did not buy Engadget's claim, it now appears that indeed Samsung is actually working on a VR headset. A report from Sammobile suggests that the Korean company will debut its head mounted display at IFA trade show in Berlin, come September. The product is being developed in partnership with Facebook-owned Oculus VR.

I must confess, the first time I heard Google's virtual reality headset was made using a cardboard, I said to myself ''this is the  funniest joke of all time.'' But, as it is, I was wrong. With Google cardboard, you and I are beginning to understand what virtual reality really is.
