Belty, a smart belt that uses built-in 'tiny' motors to fasten itself when you are sitting down and releases when you take in more than what your stomach can hold, is getting everyone's attention at CES Unveiled. The Belty ''smart belt'' is the brain child of French startup Emiota and is due to be out later this year.
The smart belt can also keep track of your health and fitness with the help of an accelerator and gyroscope and is able to send out the data it collects wirelessly to your smartphone via an app.''By tracking tension and activity, it will also theoretically detect when more support might be helpful, tightening up on its own, or find the optimal belt size based on your waistline.''
Nice belt, but Imagine a malfunction where it tightens up and squeezes you to death... I'll stick to my "dumb" belts.
