As I said before, wearables and self-driving cars are the most anticipated technologies of 2015. And LG and Audi showed us that a wearable device can work hand in hand with a car;even a self-driving car for that matter. A smartwatch is not just for sending emails, surfing the net, make phone calls etc. but can also be used to control a car.
At the International CES 2015 in Las Vegas yesterday, LG paired its new smartwatch, that is believed to be running LG's WebOS,with an Audi self-driving car. The unnamed LG WebOS smartwatch was able to start the car's engine and even unlock its doors over Near Field Communication(NFC) through an Audi app. By the way, LG's webOS smartwatch can also make phone calls, send text messages and emails, music and can track your heart rate just as other smartwatches in the market.
The LG WebOS-based smartwatch is still a prototype at the moment, so the company has refused to give out more details concerning this smartwatch, as regards pricing, specs, availability and name of the smartwatch. The only thing we know about the LG's new smartwatch at this point is that it will have a metal body and leather straps.
