Yes, that came from me. Oculus VR will regret coming to the virtual reality party. Seriously, while I was reading article on theverge today, these words just struck my mind. I was really expecting the Facebook-owned company to come out with a consumer version of its Rift virtual reality headset at CES 2015,instead, it brought the same old ''Crescent Bay'' prototype to the event . So annoying!
The founder of the Rift is not even sure of when a consumer version of its VR will hit the public. So sad. And he says he doesn't want their Rift to be ''another power glove or virtual boy,'' but I tell you, this could be one of the headlines of the Rift VR headset when it launches: Oculus Rift, same old VR headset.
Other companies see a lot of potential in virtual reality and are started developing their own products, case in point Archos VR glasses which works with any Android, iOS and Windows-powered phones with a 5-inch screen. Even the ones we have seen so far at this year's CES, are doing well. It would be a crowded market when the consumer Rift comes out. Trust me on this one.
