A hacker group that goes by the GOP, which is an acronym for Guardians of Peace, has come down hard on Sony Pictures Entertainment by having total control of its computer network. The group promised to post the company's classified information to the public should it fail to meet their demands.
It appears someone inside the company or an ex-employee might have a hand in this. That's because the screenshot(above) circulating the internet showing that Sony Pictures computer network has been hacked was shared by someone on Reddit.
As you can see in the screenshot, there is a red skeleton with a message that reads, ''we've already warned you, and this is just a beginning. We continue till our request are met. We've obtained all your internal data including your secrets and top secrets. If you don't obey us, we'll release data shown below to the world.'' After the message, there are links to the company's internal document such as podcast and passwords.
Because of the breach, Sony has reportedly told its employees not to log on to corporate networks or access email, thereby leaving them with no choice other than to complete their assignments the old-fashioned way: Use of pen and paper, landline telephone and fax machines.
GOP gave the Sony Pictures November 24 as a deadline to fulfill their request. But yesterday has come and gone and they haven't leaked any internal document to the world.
