18 year-old Eesha Khare of Saratoga, California won the Intel International Science and Engineering fair for building a device that could charge a cell phone for 20 seconds. Yes 20 seconds!
The Super-capacitor stored a lot of energy into a small space, charge the battery in seconds and holds that charge for a long time than ordinary batteries.
She showed us how the device works by using it to power an LED bulb. She said the device could fit into cell phone batteries, that means it could charge electronic portable devices.
She received the $50,000 prize money for wining Intel International Science and Engineering Fair
