US Navy Nerds got secure NeRD e-Reader

Sailors on US Navy ships are not allowed to bring in their tablets, smartphones, Nooks etc. on board, owing to cyber security reasons. So what then become of a bookworm sailor? The US Navy found answers to that question by releasing its own customize  e-Reader device known as NeRD. The acronym for NeRD is the ''Navy eReader Device.'' Don't get upset by the word NeRD,is not what you think; it's the other way round.

Yeah, the NeRD e-Reader each  come preloaded with 300 books, which give the sailors an array of electronic books to consume every day. Among other great titles found on these devices are ''Lord of the Rings,''Girl with the dragon tattoo,'' Games of thrones'' series and classic such as ''Shakespeare,'' Jane Austen, '' Samuel Mariner,'' and others.

The NeRD devices do not have internet connection, Wi-Fi, Ports and so they do not tend to stand as threats to sailors on ships. The sailors can't add or delete the contents on the NeRD.

The Navy is making 365 devices at first, with more to follow. The Navy plans to send about five to each submarine to be shared between multiple people.
